Jakarta – According to the Global AI Index 2024, Indonesia ranks 49th out of 83 countries, scoring low in areas such as computing power, data center capacity, and global-standard connectivity. This indicates that, despite the strong push for AI adoption, the country has yet to build a sufficient technological backbone.

The gap goes beyond statistics. In the Government AI Readiness Index 2024, Indonesia sits in the middle tier, constrained by policy, regulation, and technical capacity challenges. In an era where AI relies on large-scale data centers, low-latency networks, and edge computing infrastructure, many organizations in Indonesia still lack adequate technical access and readiness.

The Virtus Showcase Jakarta 2025 stage became a platform for technology practitioners to spotlight a central dilemma that many companies are jumping into AI adoption without first assessing their internal readiness.
